Animal Assistant

We are looking for someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience and an all round passion for a wide range of animals to join our team part time.

Our animal collection ranges from large agricultural stock including sheep, goats, pigs, alpacas, llamas and even deer, through to rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, small aviary birds, reptiles and small insects.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the care of these animals including but in no way limited to their daily feeding and cleaning, medication, general housekeeping and enclosure maintenance through to ensuring the highest levels of animal welfare. An eye for detail and a thorough approach to your work is key.

Ideally applicants will have a farming background and at least 2 years practical experience of handling and working with large agricultural animals is essential. Farm maintenance skills, such as fencing and strimming would be desirable.

As a public attraction you will also be regularly interacting with our visitors of all ages when carrying out meet and greet sessions or presenting animal shows, so public speaking/performing experience would be an advantage.

Catering Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Catering Manager, responsible for delivering high standards and service across the business.

Central to the operation is Café Italia and the Round Table Café which are the two catering outlets providing quality service to high volumes of visitors across Adventure Valley.

The successful candidate will understand how to efficiently run a high volume, seasonal business to the highest standards. They will be commercially astute and will understand the complexities of the visitor attraction market,

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Service standards across the business, ensuring the highest level of customer service and food quality
• Training and development of the food and beverage teams, including front of house staff
• Compliance with food hygiene standards, health and safety and all aspects of good kitchen management practice
• Managing budgets, stock and operating expenses, together with product ordering and stock taking
• Contributing towards the marketing of the outlets, developing key messages and seasonal campaigns
• Motivating teams to exceed the visitor expectation on every occasion, ensuring repeat custom and commercial success
• Acting as Duty Manager in the absence of the Operations and Park Manager.

Essential skills/experience include:
• Food Hygiene level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Proficient in IT systems, including EPOS and Excel
• Experience of a managerial position within the Food and Beverage sector

This full time, permanent role is 40 hours, 5 days in 7 including weekends and bank holidays. Our trading hours are 10am until 5pm (4pm in winter) and a typical shift would be 8.30am until 5pm.
