Duty/Site Maintenance Manager

A working farm full of animals, rides, slides, soft play, 2 onsite cafes, tractor and train rides and so much more – it’s no surprise Adventure Valley is the North East’s Largest Family Attraction Park!

We are looking for the right individual to join our management team full time.

The ideal candidate must be a hardworking team player, someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty whilst supporting the team, interacting and showing great customer service to our visiting families and making sure the park and all it has to offer is kept in tip top shape – clean, well maintained and safe.

This role will be both physically and mentally challenging and fun!

We are looking for someone with great knowledge and experience in Maintenance and Health & Safety who can also manage a number of teams, taking on Duty Manager Responsibilities to support the current management team.

Essential Requirements;

  • Great Customer Service
  • Duty Managing Experience
  • Experience of successfully managing teams of all ages and abilities
  • Great knowledge and experience of general maintenance – inc. basic plumbing and electrics, grounds works, vehicle maintenance (oils, waters, lights, etc.)
  • Health and Safety auditing experience
  • Completing and ensuring risk assessments are adhered to
  • Routine servicing of rides and attractions (train, small carousel, etc.)
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience of compiling and completing annual auditing and inspections
  • Machine Operating
  • Experience of carrying out staff training and in house assessments
  • Adaptable and willing to support all areas of the business – including the animal, retail, cafe and play teams
  • Driving Licence
  • Routine servicing of all rides and attractions

Desired Requirements;

  • Experience working with Animals
  • Experience Key Holder
  • Stock Handling and replenishment (nuts, bolts, screws, ride/vehicle replacement parts, etc)
  • DBS Certificate
  • Fire Alarm Testing/ Fire Extinguisher Checks
  • Car Parking
  • Assisting/Liaising External Contractors
  • Experience in PA systems/Projector and screen set up, other Audio Visual equipment knowledge
  • Event setting up/decorating
  • Event Support

The right candidate must be prepared to work weekends and school holidays.

Salary £25,000+ depending on experience

Cafe Supervisor

Adventure Valley is the North East’s biggest family adventure park with over 50 attractions, activities and shows and three huge indoor play and animal zones.

Central to the operation is Café Italia and the Round Table Café which are the two catering outlets providing quality service to high volumes of visitors across Adventure Valley.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Café Supervisor, working closely with the Kitchen Supervisor to continually deliver high standards and service across the business.

The successful candidate will understand how to efficiently run a high volume, seasonal business to the highest standards. They will be commercially astute and will understand the complexities of the catering and hospitality markets.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Service standards across the business, ensuring the highest level of customer service and food quality
  • Training and development of the cafés front of house team
  • Compliance with food hygiene standards, health and safety and all aspects of good kitchen management practice
  • Assist with stock and operating expenses, together with product ordering and stock taking
  • Contributing towards the marketing of the outlets, developing key messages and seasonal campaigns
  • Motivating teams to exceed the visitor expectation on every occasion, ensuring repeat custom and commercial success

Essential skills/experience include:

  • Food Hygiene level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Proficient in IT systems, including EPOS and Excel
  • Experience of a supervisorial/ team leader position within the Food and Beverage sector

This permanent role is a minimum of 5 days in 7 including weekends and bank holidays with the possibility of increasing during Peak times such as, School Holidays. Our trading hours are 10am until 5pm (4pm in winter) and a typical shift would be 9am until 5pm.
