Opening Hours

Important update – We are truly sorry but we are currently closed.

The time has come that we need to make the difficult and sad decision to temporarily close as of Friday 20 March.  Following recent government advice, we feel it is the only right and responsible action to take.

To help keyworkers and vulnerable children, the onsite Day Nursery will remain open.

We’d like to thank our customers, staff and suppliers for their support.  Can we reassure customers that online tickets will be able to be used anytime up until 31 October 2020 and annual pass holders will have the period of closure added to their season pass.

We can’t wait to open again and see you all.  For all our animal news and updates, please follow us our social media or join our email newsletter.

Thank you again for your support and stay safe!

All the best,

Marco and Janine (Owners, Adventure Valley)

Visitor Facilities

Adventure Valley has worked hard to provide a full range of visitor facilities:

Free Parking – For those arriving by car or coach we have plenty of free parking onsite. *Must pass under a 12’6″ bridge

Toilets – Toilets are located within the Indoor PlayTown, and also at the Round Table Cafe.

Facilities for babies – Baby changing facilities are near the soft play area within the Indoor PlayTown and at the toilets near the Round Table Cafe. In Cafe Italia we provide microwave ovens for parents to heat milk or baby food and provide high chairs for younger visitors.

Accessibility for wheelchairs and pushchairs – The site is split into three sections. The top part is completely accessible, giving you access to all the indoor play areas. The other two sections are outdoors and on a hill, however, paths have been covered in tarmac. No Smoking Onsite – Smoking is not allowed within Adventure Valley. The smoking area is located in the main car park. No Alcohol – We operate a no alcohol policy across the whole of Adventure Valley. No Dogs Allowed Onsite – We do not allow dogs onsite apart from Guide Dogs and other registered Assistance Dogs

Where to Eat

Cafe Italia

Within the heart of the Indoor PlayTown, you’ll find Cafe Italia. Serving Italian favourites such as pizza, pasta and panini, grab a seat either inside the play area or on the outside terrace. Delicious coffees, teas and children’s picnic boxes are also available.

The Round Table Cafe

During the height of the school holidays, we open an additional cafe in Runaway Ranch. With beautiful views over the Valley, it’s the ideal spot to take a break and watch the children play.

Picnic Areas

You’re welcome to bring your own picnic and eat in either of our outdoor covered seating areas of Picnic Beach or Picnic Ranch.  Picnics cannot be consumed in the main Cafe Italia area, but there is inside seating by the Canon Saloon where picnics are welcome.

Local Accommodation

Durham Marriott Hotel Royal County Hotel – This hotel provides a spectacular setting for your city centre visit and is located only 5 miles away from Adventure Valley.
